Topic details
The main objective of the work is the development of a coupled code systems based on CFD. neutronics and mechanical structure interaction with CFD for the analysis of the influence of rod vibrations and intra-fuel assembly flow configurations (single phase flow) on the rod power distribution and evolution with time.
The project is expected to last for 3 years, but an extension may be possible if needed.
There are no mandatory courses to take, although it is possible to voluntarily take them if there is interest on an specific subject.
The PhD student is expected to enroll in the TUM Graduate School and follow the requirement regarding the support of Master students and academic activities expected of all PhD students at TUM.
