The laboratory for reactor physics and systems behaviour (LRS) in the School of Basic Sciences, EPFL, has an open position (full-time) for a reactor physicist / nuclear engineer.
Your profile :
- university degree in physics or engineering
- experience with reactor analysis and experiments, and/or the application of nuclear
techniques, highly desirable - fluency in English and French (good knowledge of German would be an additional
asset)
Your tasks :
- be actively involved in the operation and usage of the EPFL teaching CROCUS
reactor, which is employed for a wide range of student experiments - carry out research in the area of reactor physics and systems behaviour, in close
collaboration with scientists at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Villigen - help in the planning and supervision of student research projects
Equal time-sharing is foreseen between CROCUS related operational and teaching tasks
at EPFL, and independent research at PSI Villigen.
Contract duration : the initial appointment is for 2 years, renewable
Starting date : as soon as possible
